I was ten when I took the needle and thread from my mother’s hands.

She was sewing a costume for my brother — something simple — but I didn’t like how she was doing it.

I was a little bold, a little mouthy, already sure I could do it better.

So I did.

A few weeks later, I made her a skirt for her birthday. No pattern. Just instinct, fabric, and the thrill of getting it right.

She wore it. That was all I needed.

And I’ve been designing ever since — chasing that feeling of creation, of recognition, of giving someone a piece of themselves they didn’t know they were missing.

I didn’t come up through institutions. I came up through obsession. Through texture. Through making mistakes and making beauty out of them anyway.
